Who would've thought that something like chicken strips could be replaced by a product made out of a humble soybean! Well, technology has certainly come so far that we can now mimic the taste and texture of animal flesh and the results are fabulous, compassionate, healthy and delicious!
Today, I'm featuring Light Life's Smart Strips which you can find in most produce sections of grocery stores. You can use them in fajitas, stir frys, casseroles, pot pies, stews or burritos.
As you may have caught on by now, I love making stir frys as they are so easy to make and incredibly versatile. Below, you see a simple stir fry I made with the Smart Strips.
Because you can use these strips in any meal, I'm just going to give you an idea of what I did and you can use this post as inspiration to make your own master piece.
Recipe:
1 package of Smart Strips by Lightlife
2 carrots, julienned
1 red onion, julienned
1 red pepper, julienned
1 cup brown rice, cooked
1 bunch arugula greens
Sauce:
1.5 TBSP Tamari (soy sauce)
1 TBSP agave nectar (or to taste)
2 TBSP brown rice vinegar
So basically I sauteed the strips first until they were lightly browned, and then added a variety of veggies (onions, red peppers, carrots) . Then I tossed the veggies in a simple sauce I made with tamari, agave nectar and brown rice vinegar and put it on a bed of rice and arugula greens! Such a simple, yet elegant meal!

Yummy! This looks so very tasty. I can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you ChooseVegBlog.com!

"""if you dont eat meat (animal), why are you trying to find soy (or other) substitutes?"""
The reason..well my reason for seeking out meat substitutes are: I have not always been a vegetarian.I miss certain foods I have eaten that contain meat. I miss the textures and sometimes I just crave comfort ffods that are familiar from my childhood. Maet substitutes provide the "feel" of something familiar without causing pain and suffering to any animals. Its also much healthier. Its the best of both worlds. I get something familiar without sacrificing my morals. It is also a great way to introduce meat eaters to a healthy way of eating. For some of us....its not that we stopped liking meat...its that we have changed our ways of thinking and make a concious choice to emiminate death from or lives.

Some background info: Agave nectar should not cost more than $1/oz. I
live in the 20854 zip code, so the closer to that I can get agave
nectar, the better. I would start looking in either health/natural
foods stores, gourmet food stores, and Mexican markets, as agave is
chiefly grown in Jalisco, Mexico.

In my opinion, the ethnic literature treasury consists of the essence on the ethnic language. Accordingly , today the most popular course isn't literature or background but accounting. Wish the tommorrow of us will flip out to become a lot more improved.

This is some reliable material. It took me some time to unearth this web page but it was worth the time. I noticed this page was hidden in yahoo and not the first spot. This website has a lot of good quality stuff and it doesn’t deserve to be burried in the search engines like that. By the way I am going to add this web publication to my favorites.
